Iron Diamond Media Acquires Destination I Do,

Expanding Its National Wedding Media Portfolio

The acquisition brings more than two decades of destination wedding and travel expertise to Iron Diamond Media as the company prepares to launch its national luxury wedding publication, IRON DIAMOND, in 2027.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — October 14, 2026 — Iron Diamond Media (IDM), publisher of seven established regional wedding brands, has acquired Destination I Do, a national wedding and travel publication specializing in destination weddings, honeymoons and romance travel. The acquisition represents another significant step in IDM's national expansion, adding a publication with an international perspective and more than 20 years of industry experience to its growing portfolio.

Founded in 2004 by Jennifer Stein and Carolyn Steere, Destination I Do began with a vision to connect couples with the destinations, wedding professionals and experiences that make celebrations away from home possible. Over the past 22 years, the publication has grown from a print magazine into a multiplatform media brand, reaching audiences through its website, social channels and podcast. Its editorial coverage spans real weddings around the world, destination guides, honeymoon inspiration and expert planning advice, with an emphasis on cultural appreciation, inclusivity and trusted industry relationships.

For Iron Diamond Media, the acquisition builds on the history of its regional publishing brands, beginning with Oregon Bride in 1989 and Minnesota Bride in 1993. Today, the company publishes California Wedding Day, Oregon Wedding Day, Washington Wedding Day, Arizona Bride, Minnesota Bride, Wisconsin Bride and Nebraska Wedding Day, connecting engaged couples and wedding professionals through print publications, digital platforms, industry events and Wedding Day Podcast.

Under the leadership of owner and CEO Sonja Babich, who founded Iron Diamond Media in 2021 and whose company acquired Bride Media Group that year, the company has continued to expand its reach within the wedding industry. Babich’s background includes helping plan more than 500 weddings before transitioning into publishing, experience that informs her approach to creating resources for couples and opportunities for wedding professionals. The addition of Destination I Do further broadens IDM’s editorial coverage, bringing destination weddings and travel into a portfolio historically centered on regional wedding markets.

“What Jennifer has built over the past 22 years is truly remarkable, and I am honored to carry her legacy forward. As we prepare to launch our national publication, IRON DIAMOND, in 2027, welcoming Destination I Do into our portfolio is another exciting step in our vision for the future. I couldn’t be prouder of our team, the momentum we’ve built and the opportunities ahead for the wedding industry. And trust me, we’re just getting started!” said Sonja Babich, owner and CEO of Iron Diamond Media.

The acquisition also comes as IDM prepares for the national debut of IRON DIAMOND, its luxury wedding publication planned for spring 2027. The new title will feature bridal fashion, wedding design, real celebrations and editorial inspiration from across the country, extending the company's presence beyond its regional publications.

For Stein, the transition follows more than two decades of building Destination I Do alongside a network of editors, photographers, planners, hospitality partners and wedding-industry professionals. From the publication's earliest days as a small, family-run business to its international growth, Stein has emphasized the relationships and creative collaborations behind its success. Stein recalled how her first conversation with Babich set the tone for their relationship:

“The very first conversation we had felt like it was 10 minutes long, but we talked for close to an hour. We discovered so much common ground in our experiences, our perspectives, and the way we approach business that the connection felt natural from the start. As we’ve gotten to know each other, I’ve come to see that Sonja shares something I’ve always believed in: at its heart, this is a people business. Relationships, trust, and genuinely caring about the people you work with are what make a business special.” — Jennifer Stein, founder of Destination I Do.

With Destination I Do joining its portfolio and the upcoming launch of IRON DIAMOND, Iron Diamond Media enters its next chapter with an expanded national presence, connecting regional wedding expertise with destination inspiration and wedding travel coverage.
